Speaking of localisation, youll be pleased to know that the English version of Yakuza 4 doesnt suffer from the same content cuts which were incomprehensibly made to its predecessor. The hostess mini-games and massage parlour are left unscathed this time round, and the only thing which has been cut is a Japanese-themed quiz which we wouldnt have been able to answer anyway. The only bone I have to pick with the localisation team is that they didnt subtitle the phrases which your character and their respective hostess articulate during mini-games such as golf or table tennis. Theres also a fair amount of Japanese writing in the environment itself which isnt subtitled during some of the mini-games such as pachinko.

A Minnesota woman should serve two years of supervised probation for helping to run a prostitution business at Tokyo Massage parlor, a judge decided this morning.
June Wilhelmi, 60, dabbed at her eyes as Natrona County District Judge Thomas Sullins said he would not sentence her to additional jail time for promoting prostitution and engaging in sex for money. She had already served 20 days in jail following her January arrest.
Sullins also ordered Wilhelmi to perform 30 hours of community service and pay a $1,000 fine.

Wilhlemi is the final defendant to be sentenced in connection with a multi-agency investigation of Tokyo Massage, which had operated as a brothel for years near Natrona County International Airport. Sheriff’s deputies and state agents raided the business in January and arrested four workers, including Wilhelmi.

Police sergeant arrested for taking bribes from massage parlor owner
A Tokyo police sergeant has been arrested for corruption after receiving a total of 670,000 yen in bribes from the owner of a Korean massage parlor in exchange for overlooking the sex business she ran there.
Takaki Hayashi, 46, and owner So Ka-jun, 43, both arrested for bribery, have admitted to the charges, according to police.
Hayashi was first consulted by So in June 2008. Hayashi, a member of Kanda Police Station’s Community Safety Division at the time, was tasked with monitoring establishments breaking the Entertainment Business Control Law. However, he agreed to overlook Highland, So’s massage parlor in Misakicho, Chiyoda Ward, in exchange for cash.
According to police, until his transfer to Chofu Police Station in June 2009, he received a total of 670,000 yen over 11 occasions.

Police began driving out sex business operators in 2005, after a torrent of complaints from local residents. The campaign coincided with similar raids conducted in Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture. By the end of 2006, most of the sex shops were gone.
Only four restaurants and other establishments now operate inside a six-story tenant building that used to house 10 massage parlors and other sex-related businesses.
